Melbourne A La Mode
On Thursday night I had the pleasure of attending the VIP launch of Melbourne Á la Mode - a three day shopping experience hosted by Danielle Goodwin, owner of Hawkeye Vintage. Held at the George Ballroom in St Kilda, the Parisienne inspired theme for the night felt perfectly at home as the opulent victorian era space set the mood.
Bloggers, fashionista’s and lovers of all things vintage gathered for an evening of what can only be described as celebratory shopping. Armed with flutes of champagne and Chanel biscuits, guests laughed and chatted whilst perusing the vintage offerings surrounding us.
With so many cute things it was hard not to buy everything; plus 10% of all profits from the weekend will go to Assist ‘a’ Sista, a foundation that supports women recovering from domestic abuse.
The night included styling demonstrations by Estelle…, owner of Australian label Micky in the Van, who showcased her iconic headwraps.
Guests were also treated to a fashion runway that featured national and international designers, including Lady Petrova, The Eternal Hedonist, Dainty & Bold, T. Serafina, Micky in the Van and of course Hawkeye Vintage
