What made you want to create HUNTR?
My partner Adam and I originally wanted to create a women's fashion label, but by chance happened to bump into our friend Simon Hill one day, who wanted to do a women's sportswear label. My background is in women's fashion, from high street to high end. So I suggested that we create a fashion-focused active wear label to be able to utilise my skills fully. We also thought that there was a gap in the market for trendy sportswear. We wanted to strip away the Fluoro colours and bright prints from standard active wear, and present a minimal, sports-luxe aesthetic to the market.. And so Huntr was born..
How did you go about designing your collection along with finding the right materials?
The designing part is easy and fun, you get to do research, find inspiration, get as creative as you like. Then you need to pare back the creativity and put on your business cap, so you can decide which pieces to keep in the range. Sourcing materials and perfecting fit samples take time and a lot of back and forth communicating over email with the factories. I'm a perfectionist and very detail-oriented so I have high expectations for my factories to achieve the best result possible.
