Rachel Zoe Icons Of Style: S/S Runway 2015 Chadstone
It’s a bit early, but Spring seemed as though it was in full swing Thursday night at Melbourne fashion capital Chadstone. Showcasing their Spring/Summer 2015 runway, the night began in the Pommery Bar area; where VIP guests were treated to bubbles and delicious orders. Bloggers and media moguls flooded the floor, chitchatting about up and coming collaborations and madly hashtagging as we awaited the grand entrance of this years incredible style icon - Rachel Zoe! Mother of two and famed celebrity stylist, I couldn’t have thought of a better icon for this year… Talk about on point. The runway was not your typical arrangement, decked out in a floral jungle theme. Paper flowers adorned to area, setting the mood for Spring perfectly. A modern take on classic European summer destinations like Monaco came to mind - sophisticated, stylish yet still unique.
Glamorous themes featured heavily on the runway. Think Sophia Loren and Grace Kelly - both style icons from different eras; yet their style was reinterpreted on the runway with a fresh twist. Butterfly sunglasses and floppy summer hats exuded a vintage 60’s-esque vibe whilst the feel of the 70’s permeated the catwalk by way of sequins and flares. Even the 30’s was intertwined by Oroton, whose barrel bag featured as the perfect accessory. They say history repeats itself, and these styles are certainly ones that we needed to come back around.
The models on runway paraded with a pop of colour on the lips and slick straight hair when pieced with each outfit during the show.
We saw flares to fringing which is making it big this S/S.We saw these trends trickling through the pipelines during our winter months but watch out summer fringing and flares are here to stay.
Rachel Zoe Designer Edit
At the beginning of the runway, Rachel Zoe herself styled her top picks.
The brands she picked were Cara Zampatti which was definitely my favourite. It was a show stopper hot pink coat which had a stylish added pussy bow. Willow was featured along with Zimmerman, Manning Cartel, Hugo Boss and, of course, Aussie favourite Sass and Bide.
The following trends we have waited in anticipation for are the following....drum roll please!
