Magnolia ‘Maminydjama’ Maymuru has inspired Chadstone- The Fashion Capital Spring Summer campaign for 2016 (SS16). Having taken the world by storm - literally, having competed for Miss World Australia she was the NT finalist and placed 6th in the competition.
She’ll be debuting in Chadstone’s SS16 campaign, to be launched in the centre on Thursday, September 15. With creativity running in the family history such as her Great Grandmother and Grandfather have artworks hanging in the Louvre in Paris and National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, and her father is a musician, she has captured the world by not only her beauty but her courageous passion for diversity and inspiration she gives to all women around the world.
The model hails from far-east Arnhem land and was first spotted by the director of NT Fashion Week in 2014, but chose to focus on finishing Year 12 before deciding to try modelling last year. Since then, her journey from the remote community of Yirrkala to becoming the first traditional indigenous model selected to compete in the Miss World National finals has captured the nation’s attention.
“Chadstone is thrilled to add Magnolia to the line-up of incredible talent to have featured in our campaigns over previous years”, said Tanya Lunardon, Chadstone Marketing Director
