Come inside the mind of talented director Martin Scorsese.
ACMI has opened the first exhibition celebrating the cinematic legend. Inside as you walk down the staircase beamed with red lighting, setting the mood as you walk down the staircase of a cinematic mastermind.
Once you’ve entered you will be greeted by Scorsese’s short film “ The Big Shave” a man who is repeatedly shaving away hair, then skin, it's a very graphic bathroom scene, once again the early days of Scorsese's talent for film .
Further in you’ll spot all the great movies and scripts from the Goodfellas, Cape Fear, Casino and The Wolf Of Wall Street. There are also correspondences from one director to another, and locals offering their building to be filmed. Thank you notes from well-known celebrities, and letters.
These pieces have been drawn from Scorsese's private collection, including pieces from his family home. They've been literally taken off the walls and shelves of his office and editing room.
Scorsese always knew what he wanted to be since age 11,
You’ll be able to read about his life and listen all around you of scenes, to Martin talking about his life growing up, and witnessing yourself the original drawings from age 11 his first movie storyboard.
There are so many 'wow' factors you will express to the pieces that are inside the exhibition. Along with a big bright pop-up sign saying " Mean Streets" as you experience the ride for yourself.
