On February 1st 2016, L’Oréal Paris Australia launched the first-ever nation-wide search for its new Makeup Director with the competition, Makeup Designer Contest. Throughout February, the beauty brand invited all makeup-artists, both amateur and professional, to submit their entry online for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to join L’Oréal Paris’ dream team of makeup designers on a coveted one-year contract as the new Makeup Director for L’Oréal Paris Australia.

The top 10 entrants showcased their looks at the finale event in Melbourne on March 23rd in front of an esteemed jury of industry experts – GrittyPretty.com Beauty Editor Eleanor Pendleton, Makeup Artist and YouTube star Heidi Hamoud, official retail partner Priceline Pharmacy Cosmetics Buyer Emma Hogan and Lauren Young, Marketing Director for L’Oréal Paris Australia.

During the night the contestants brought their A-game, and it was incredible to see all of them in action creating a look based on a Parisian runway look.

Also I caught up with a few beauty bloggers from the industry, it's always refreshing going to different events, including make up because it's such a different type of blogging besides fashion. Everyone was so excited and we were on the edge of our seats till they announced the winner.

The winner of the Makeup Designer Contest, Tobi Henney, was announced as the new Makeup Director for L’Oréal Paris at the event.

Thanks for having me L'OREAL!
