As usual, kicking off the Spring Racing Carnival was the prestigious monochrome Derby Day. The Birdcage played host to an array of individually styled marquees by the likes of Lavazza, Wolf Blass, Emirates, Myer and brand new kid on the block: Sensis. With the sun shining, it was completely opposite to last year's Derby Day!

As an ambassador for ANTLER luggage, I was given the awesome opportunity to cover the Spring racing style present at each of the marquees. A personal highlight of mine was definitely the Sensis Marquee, which had live performances by Client Liaison and Sneaky Sound System, and everyone got their groove on in their fancy races attire.
Also notable faces inside the Marquee were
Clint Eastwood's son Scott and supermodel Bambi

Both performing artists, though not in traditional derby day attire, were on-point with their outfits. Client Liaison rocked 80's flashback suits and Sneaky Sound System’s Connie Mitchell donned a colourful two-piece suit with bright orange heels.
Designed by acclaimed Australian artist David Bromley, the Wolf Blass marquee was themed ‘Inside the artist’s studio’. The exterior and the interior were both absolutely breathtaking, each design unique to one another. David Bromley spent 168 hours painting the interior and exterior of the Wolf Blass marquee, so it was quite literally a work of art.
Lavazza's Milano Marquee saw the likes of Megan Gale and Bec Hewitt in attendance throughout the day. Keeping within Italian theme, Megan flaunted her Dolce Gabbana embroidered floral dress, looking like the absolute star that she is.
In the Myer marquee, Nicole Trunfio stole the show with her avant-garde Toni Maticevski outfit.
