There are so many unwanted garments in the world since we live for trends and we tend to forget about our previous treasures we once loved so much.
I had the absolute pleasure of joining up with Kangan Institute and Red Cross for a very exciting project of up cycle sustainable outfits.
We came up with a fun competition for the students to create up cycle outfits for Dermie and I to wear to different fashion events, for kangan to gain exposure for the institute and also the Red Cross. The students created a range of designs for the panel to pick .
Up-cycle you say??! Yes, the students sourced pre-loved outfits from the Australian Red Cross and re-created them into something completely new!
All the students are such talented creative geniuses at Kangan with this special project to come up with a whole new design concept for an outfit that was already previously loved. A past trend now brought back to life with a new trend what a great idea.
The talented students who are currently studying fashion design at Kangan came up with different sketches and garments for this exciting competition. The winners picked outfits will be worn to all fashion events I attend along with resident photographer Dermie!
First before everything started, they scanned my body with a 3D Scanner . Yes, I know scanning right? It's a 3D scanner that is a device that analyses a real-world object or environment to collect data on its shape and possibly its appearance (i.e. colour). The collected data can then be used to construct digital three-dimensional models. . That way the students knew my exact measurements to create the outfits.
All I know that they are all such talented students! My.. i couldn't
The winners are!
And these beautiful outfits i'll be wearing to events, fashion weeks and more!
Although not to be disheartened on the ones who weren't picked i'd like to greatly say thank you to the following astonishing fashion students….
I feel so honoured to be an ambassador for Kangan & The Red Cross for creating up-cycled garments to wear to MSFW along with Spring racing carnival and all other fashion events!
You're all so talented I'm forever grateful to wear such beautiful pieces… you all have such big futures ahead of you.
Stay tuned foxes… this is just the beginning!
