6 Things I love About Being A Blogger
I've been blogging for almost three and a half years now. It's been such an exciting whirlwind of an experience that I've been so lucky to be part of. Back in high school, being a blogger wasn't a job, heck it didn't even exist. I've met so many like-minded creatives, experienced opportunities that I'd never thought I'd ever do with just doing the per usual 9-5 job. I've also been able to express myself online and share my passion with so many who follow me, I love every single one of my foxes. Being a blogger isn't just all about the pretty pictures, it's about being your own boss, putting your skills to the test and being real. Since blogging, I love that I have a voice that can be heard and read by so many of you. Writing has helped me express myself to the world. There's been some ups and a few downs, but mostly ups. I'm grateful to be still on this exciting journey, and I can't wait to show you what I'll be creating next.
Opportunities
Since blogging, I've has some big 'pinch me' moments. I have been able to work with some big and small brands in the industry, this has not only helped me grow professionally but grow as a creative. Being given these opportunities by people who see me as a micro influencer, not too phased about my Instagram following, but as someone who is passionate and that can go that extra mile with creative content and express my ideas into a reality. I've also been part of some fantastic campaigns, one major one was for Esprit for international national womens day.
Freedom of creativity
I have always known that I wanted to be in the creative field. I've always been creative, whether it was doing drama, art or wanting to be a comedian. Having control of my own content and creative ideas without a brief has is an amazing feeling to do. Being able to capture a moment from my vision and into a reality is something I'm so grateful to do. I love creating campaigns and a story to tell to not only my followers but for the brands to use to tell their story online.
Being my own "model"
Being able to embrace all my curves and not have to be a sample sized model to showcase my outfits to my fellow foxes is awesome. It's fine to be any shape or size!
Technically I do a little bit of modelling whilst blogging, i'm no way a model, but I love that I can collaborate with brands and show my followers it's OK to have curves and you don't have to be a size zero to be in fashion. I'm a little thick in certain areas, and that's not fat, that's just being sexy! It took me ages to love my hips, I'd compare myself to others and I wasn't born with that body shape, I was born hourglass and now I love that I don't have to think twice about my body shape and that I can style and wear something because I love it and feel good in it, and to show curves are fabulous to have.
Meeting like-minded people
People who share the same passion as you, wether they're bloggers, designers or lovers of fashion.
I've met so many amazing creative minds of all ages since starting my blog. I've grown close to others who share the same thoughts and love about the industry and express our passions together. I've had some marvellous conversations and I've met some amazing people that I'd never of dreamed to have ever met in my life. People with passion is the fuel for your own pursuits and surrounding yourself with people who believe in you.
(yes, i've also met a few celebs which has been totally cool, and I try to keep "cool" but inside i'm totally fangirling)
Social events
I love being a little social butterfly, but some events are fun to attend to see what will be out next, and others such as seminars I attend gain an insight about where the world will be in the next 5 or so years in fashion. Being part of this lets my followers gain an insight into what I experience online.
Last, but not least.....
