Staying true to your personal style is a definite thing, but perhaps what would you think if I said it's OK to try a different trend that's out of your comfort zone, or to wear whatever you want just because you feel like it.
It's totally ok to change up your personal style, although some might disagree and say "stay true to your signature style" then you'reputting blinkers (only seeing what's in front and they aren't distracted by other trends)on from outfits that could well suit you, and might even surprise you.
Some days, I'll want to be a rockstar, I'll wear a leather jacket, my boyfriend jeans and a belt then at times, I'll want to dress feminine, almost a romantic style when it comes to shirts. That means, bows on shirts, peter pan collars etc.
So when I slipped into this trench from Review, it was made to perfection. I instantly thought of everywhere and anywhere I could wear it. Especially in Melbourne, since the weather is so changeable.
This classic trench coat takes inspiration from the French staple, with grosgrain frills, buckle detail at cuffs and waistband.
I tend to wear a lot of darker colours, you know because it's a Melbourne thing! But, I figured, it's OK to dress it up a little, perhaps wearing pink might be my colour and not so 'legally blonde cliche'. When I put on this jumper from Review, I instantly fell in love. The lace detail and the Peter Pan collar had completely changed my mind about wearing pink.
That's why I love how Review lets me play with that feminine style that I crave for from time to time. We all have a personal style, and that's fine, but perhaps you should try something different for once, you might surprise yourself.
Review is now available in Boutiques, Online, Myer and David Jones
