It’s my 24th birthday next month, so I figured why not do 24 facts about me.
There’s a lot you don’t know about me, in fact when I attend events I seem to surprise bloggers about myself. I do want to express myself in my writing, and I want you all to know about myself a little more!
So here it goes........
1. My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 15, and every month throughout the 9 years I've attended breast cancer meetings with her.
When it all happen I grew up quickly, the world spun fast and our family went on a crazy roller-coaster ride. I’ve never been able to emotionally express how I’ve felt about it all, but during the early years I’d tell boyfriends and friends, but they seemed to never understand. Their problems were always bigger than the big C. They were young, what could I expect? I was a frighten young girl I didn't know what was next. I'd watch tv shows in my room locked away after a shift during my mum's chemo, I really couldn't deal with it.
But 9 years on and going strong. Love you mum.
2: I have a diploma in fashion textile merchandising; I was in the first class at Kangan when they began that course. I loved every moment, I was 17 the youngest in the class and I wore vintage clothing every day.
3: I hated high school, I'd wear coloured stockings with my school dress and dyed my hair some crazy colour, my textile teacher said I’d never make it in the fashion industry.
Now I love University and I'm nearly finishing my degree in Communication PR minoring in social media, and I'm excited to add on another six months to study advertising.
4: I went through a Japanese stage, I watched anime and read manga and everything I owned was #kawaii (cute)
Kind of what I do now I collect clothing, but back then at 14 years of age I'd collect stickers, pencil cases and wrote to pen pals!
5: I use to have an online shop at 14 years old where I'd sell Japanese merch, I'd buy it in bulk and sell it online.
6: I love museums, exhibitions, art and learning about history. I find it fascinating
7: I’ve been to the UK and Italy.
Specifically, the heart of London where I stayed for a week and in Rome for two weeks, along with a few nights in Florence. I adored Florence there is so much beauty and art there.
8: I’ve been inside the queen's palace, it’s astonishing
9: I’m a little bit of a book worm if I find a good book I’ll get lost in another word for weeks.
10: I’m always setting goals for myself, I never use to, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve learnt to write down my goals showing myself I can achieve anything!
11: I'm always looking for that next big 'idea' or creative feeling.
12: I’m always helping someone, giving ideas and always wanting others to achieve their own goals in whatever it may be.
13: I enjoy doing interviews, I get a great joy of learning about the designers behind the brands.
14: My first job, I was a check out chick. Yep, I scanned food for $7.85 an hour, but I had the time of my life. During that time I had the best friendships, learnt leadership skills and the 7-12 midnight shift was the best.
15: My first ever designer purchase for me was a Mimco button bag
16 I've learnt anyone who says they can give you 'this' and 'that' are usually lies, you can do it all yourself, don’t let anyone own you for your work.
17: When creating photo shoots, I always write down my idea and creative direction. There's always a meaning behind each photo shoot
18: I have two tattoos, one I got with my mum, as a symbolic thing we did together, it's a cherry blossom, and the other is an eye behind my ear.
I don't regret my tattoos, but I don't think I'd get them if I had the chance to redo it again. They're very hidden and rarely seen.
19: Guess you could say I'm a hopeless romantic.
20: My taste in music changes, sometimes I’ll love folk indie and other days I’m all about the Coldplay or The Red Hot Chilli Peppers
21: I'm a bit of a joker
22: Since blogging, I've met some of the best creative people ever! I'm so thankful to have met them in my life.
23: Sometimes I get caught up in the moment.
24: I have a photographic memory. I can go back to any moment and re-live it again, especially when I'm lying in bed.
