What was it like to work with Toni Maticevski?
Being approached by such an iconic Australian designer with a strong vision to place both our brands hand in hand has proven to be an amazing collaboration opportunity. We both have strong visions for our brands and when customising our range for Myer it has been an amazing experience to step away from seeing our product as luggage, and begin to see it as a element of fashion. . .
Was this a first time for Antler Luggage collaborating with a designer?
It was the first time we have collaborated in this capacity with a designer. Previously we have collaborated through competitions and product giveaways but never something as involved and dynamic as a custom 24ct gold JUNO case along with an exclusive range.
How did the idea for the Juno 24 ct gold plated case come about? ( When I spoke to Sonney he had explained that Toni came to him, so a little bit more of information of that)
Yes, Toni approached us with the idea for the gold case. Knowing his upcoming collection the gold case really resonated with the story and colours on the catwalk. To our knowledge the addition of a 24ct gold case on the catwalk was something that hasn’t been done before.
Why it was created, was it for the story of the collection? What was it's involvement what was the message to the audience watching the runway collection?
The gold case was to be used as a subtle yet loud introduction into our upcoming collaboration and this was a one off PR piece customised especially for the show. Maticevski found it interesting to push the creative limits and work the technical angles of the Juno case into the robotic gold elements of the collection runway.
