HAIICH STUDIOS is a Melbourne independent fashion label, created by Hrisanthi Setcos. Having been inspired by her travels and her passion to create. It lead her to become motivated to develop a label and to pursue her vision into reality.
Constant with her designs and pursuing her dream in the industry has lead her to where she is today.
Hrisanthi has taken the time to let us inside her creative mind about herself and her brand.
What first made you create HAIICH tell us your moment!
I cant say it was one pivotal moment. Starting a label has always been something I have wanted to do but the timing was never right. It wasn’t until I returned from living in London, and travelling abroad that I decided to do something about it. The inspiration that came from my experiences whilst away, helped give me that extra push I needed to get started..
What’s like being an independent Melbourne fashion label?
A lot of work (laughs)
How did you go about designing your collection along with finding the right materials?
Research, and collaboration with design and production. You need to have a clear understanding of the look you want to create first. What materials to use will come to you along the way. It's a team effort putting a collection together successfully.
Also what is production process like for you?
A lot of research to begin with, followed by meetings with design and production to discuss intricate details about the range we are working on.
Hot topic: Pattern making, do you love it? Hate it? Tell us!
I do enjoy seeing an idea come to life, however, I must say, pattern making has to be one of my pet hates.
“Usual” day in the office like for you?
No two days are the same. I could be out of the office all day meeting with buyers, or the day could be spent with production over seeing the line we are working on or with the design team discussing our new collection.
Biggest achievement with the brand?
I cant say we have had one. We are still are very new label and have a long way to go. To date, however I would say seeing our first range being sold in a Melbourne boutique.
Advice to all students and people who aspire to get into the design industry?
Work hard and never give up on your dreams. Be confidant and just go with it! With hard work and perseverance everything pays off in the end.
Couple of quick Questions!
What is the most weirdest thing that’s ever happen to you?
When I first got to London I was walking down one of the main streets when I had a random stranger walk up to me, stare me in the face and started to scream at me for no apparent reason. I quickly walked away from him and into the nearest shop I could find to get away and come to terms with what had just happened. It was so weird.
I never leave the home without…
Do you have a “phrase” you always use?
The most important relationship you have in life is the one you have with yourself. And then after that, I'd say once you have that, it may be hard work, but you can actually change and design your life.
Your signature look is….
Effortless chic, timeless designs.
Tea or Coffee?
